Over and Around Douglass Lake, TN. July 2021

Slight detour to visit this spot after spending the night in Knoxville. (I was listening to Caleb Johnson’s novel Treeborne on this trip, but I wanted to see a TVA dam anyway.) From our spot and short hike I could see this island and wanted to fly out to it. I was surprised to see the campsite once I pulled the card. The lake is formed by the Douglass Dam, a TVA project on the French Broad River in easter Tennessee. Could see the Smoky Mountains in the distance. A place that I’d like to spend more time, but we had to keep going.

This is also worth a listen.
